春日大社境内で倒れたり枯れた杉の端材（木っ端）にハンコで顔を作る「コッパン人形」。New Traditionalの取り組みのひとつで、誰にでもできる技法で集団の手で楽しみながら作る玩具プロダクト＜Fukushi toys>として紹介しています。岡山を拠点に「玩具」と「工芸」の間を探る玩具工芸社と奈良のGood Job!センター香芝の障害のあるメンバーが、あらかじめ絵付けをした木端に、スタンプを使って模様を足したり、目や口を入れて人形を作ります。
今回、春日大社境内の杉だけでなく、前橋のあちこちでみつけた木端（こっぱ）を使ったワークショップを開催します。障害のある人もない人も、子どもから大人までだれでも参加できるワークショップです。

“Koppan Dolls” are made from small pieces of cedar wood left from trees that have fallen or withered within the grounds of Kasugataisha Shrine, with faces created using stamps. As part of the New Traditional initiative, they are presented as , toy products designed to be made and enjoyed collectively using techniques accessible to anyone.
Members with disabilities from the Good Job! Center Kashiba in Nara Prefecture work together with Gangu Kogeisha, an Okayama-based group exploring the space between ‘toys’ and ‘crafts.’ Using pieces of wood that have been painted in advance, they add patterns with stamps and create faces by adding eyes and mouths to make the dolls.
For this workshop, participants will use not only cedar from the grounds of Kasugataisha Shrine, but also small pieces of wood found in various places around Maebashi. The workshop is open to everyone, with or without disabilities, from children to adults.

障害のある人とともに、アート・デザイン・ビジネスの分野をこえ、社会に新しい仕事をつくりだすことをめざしている。つくる、はたらく、発信するが一体となった場で、違いを大切にしながら多様な仕事づくりを実践。今年でオープン10年目の節目を迎える。

玩具工芸社
メンバーは、デザインユニットCOCHAEの軸原ヨウスケと長友真昭。日本の郷土玩具をスプリングボードに、1930年代の工芸を再検証することから、現代に通じる「玩具工藝」の開発に尽力することをめざし活動している。

Good Job! Center Kashiba
Working together with people with disabilities, Good Job! Center Kashiba aims to create new forms of work in society that cross the boundaries of art, design, and business. It brings together making, working, and communicating in one place, developing diverse forms of work while valuing individual differences. This year marks the center’s 10th anniversary.

GWANGU KOGEISHA
GWANGU KOGEISHA consists of Yosuke Jikuhara and Masaaki Nagatomo of the design unit COCHAE. Taking Japanese folk toys as a starting point, they revisit crafts from the 1930s and work toward developing a contemporary form of ‘toy craft’ that carries their ideas into the present.
