日本で唯一の国立芸術大学であり、137年の歴史のなかで多くの芸術家を輩出してきた東京藝術大学油画専攻。前橋国際芸術祭では大学院油画第6研究室（薄久保香准教授）と連携し、所属する院生や卒業してまもない若手ペインターによるアーティスト・イン・レジデンスを試験的に実施していきます。2026度は木々津鏡さんとレア・エンベリさんをモニターとして招聘。アーティストにとって魅力的で暮らしやすい環境整備を進めていきます。

Tokyo University of the Arts—Japan’s sole national arts university—has produced generations of artists over its 137-year history. Maebashi Biennale 2026 will collaborate with Studio 6 of the Graduate School of Oil Painting (led by Associate Professor Kaoru Usukubo), to pilot an artist-in-residence program for current students and recent graduates. For fiscal year 2026, Kagami Kigitsu and Lea Emberli have been invited as the first participants. The program will continue to develop an environment that is both appealing and supportive for artists living and working in Maebashi.
